Hi, I’m Hillary Perlman
Co-Founder & Clinical Director
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with an MSW from Columbia University and over a decade of clinical experience. I work with individuals and couples navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, complicated grief, major life transitions, chronic health conditions including HIV/AIDS, and concerns related to sexuality and gender. I'm trained in EMDR and Accelerated Resolution Therapy, two evidence-based approaches for healing from traumatic experiences, and I'm currently deepening my practice through training in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy and trauma-informed and relational modalities.
To me, good therapy is a space where you can slow down and really process what's going on beneath the surface. A place to feel understood and supported, without judgment, while also gaining deeper insight into yourself. It's not always easy. Sometimes growth comes from being gently challenged, and that can feel uncomfortable in the moment. But those moments often plant the seeds for the most meaningful, lasting change.
What I want most is for clients to feel truly seen and understood. There's something really powerful about feeling like someone genuinely gets you. Some of the most meaningful moments in my work are when a client shares that they feel understood. It's often a sign that there's enough trust to go to the harder places together.
Outside of work, I love being outside. Some people are indoor plants and some are definitively outdoor plants. I am the latter. I love the sun, hiking, bike riding, and being near any body of water I can find.
