SERVICES - KETAMINE ASSISTED THERAPY
Ketamine Therapy in New York City
For when you have tried other approaches and something still is not shifting. A deeper option, worth a real and honest conversation.
ABOUT KAP THERAPY
The medicine opens the door. The therapy is where the work happens.
In-person in Manhattan or virtually across NY, NJ & TX.
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy pairs medically supervised ketamine with structured therapy before, during, and after each session. The medicine creates a brief window where the mind is more open and receptive. Your therapist works with you inside that window, making the therapeutic work more likely to stick.
Ketamine is legal, FDA-recognized, and has been used safely in medical settings for over 50 years. What makes KAP different from an infusion clinic is the therapy itself. The medicine opens the door. The relationship and the integration work are what actually walk you through it.
At Grounded, we offer KAP in partnership with Journey Clinical, whose medical team manages all prescribing and clinical oversight. Your Grounded therapist stays focused entirely on your care throughout the process.
KAP is not for everyone, and we will be honest with you about whether it makes sense for your situation. The consultation is free, and there is no pressure to continue.
THE PROCESS
A therapist-led, medically supported process.
Every step is structured to ensure the experience is safe, intentional, and genuinely therapeutic, not just the medicine alone.
-
01. Free Consultation
Talk with your Grounded therapist about your history, what you have tried, and whether KAP is a realistic fit for your situation. No commitment required.
-
02. Medical Evaluation
A telehealth intake with Journey Clinical's medical team to review your health history and determine whether ketamine is medically appropriate for you.
-
03. Prescription & Delivery
If approved, a personalized prescription is written and the medicine is delivered directly to your home ahead of your first dosing session.
-
04. Prepartion Sessions
One to three sessions with your Grounded therapist to set intentions, discuss what to expect, and build the therapeutic foundation before the medicine is introduced.
-
05. Dosing Session
A two and a half to three hour session, in-office or via telehealth. You take the medicine, your therapist is present the entire time, guiding and holding the space.
-
06. Integration Sessions
The most important part. Sessions after each dose to process what surfaced, make meaning of the experience, and translate insight into lasting change.
-
07. Quarterly Medical Check Ins
Ongoing medical oversight from Journey Clinical's team to monitor progress, adjust the protocol if needed, and ensure your care remains safe and effective throughout.

OCD
Grief and complicated loss
Existential distress and end-of-life concerns
