SERVICES - SEX THERAPY

Sex Therapy in New York City

A judgment-free space to explore your relationship with sexuality, intimacy, and desire, without shame, without pressure, at whatever pace feels right. We've heard it all, and we're not going anywhere.

ABOUT SEX THERAPY

You don’t have to carry this alone.

In-person in Manhattan or virtually across NY, NJ & TX.

Sex therapy at Grounded is a space to explore your relationship with your body, your sexuality, your desires, and your intimacy.

It's talk therapy. There's no physical component. What there is is a trained therapist who has genuinely heard it all and won't flinch. Several Grounded therapists have specific training in sex therapy modalities and work with both individuals and couples across a wide range of concerns.

Kink-affirming, sex-positive, and non-judgmental — for all relationship structures, orientations, and identities. Questions about sexuality are far more common than most people realize. You're not alone in what you're carrying.

WHAT WE WORK WITH

What sex therapy actually is and isn't.

More common than most people realize and more varied too. If you don't see your concern listed, reach out. We've likely worked with it.

  • Low or mismatched libido

  • Sexual anxiety and performance concerns

  • Pain during sex (vaginismus, dyspareunia)

  • Compulsive sexual behavior

  • Sexual trauma and healing

  • Desire, identity, and orientation exploration

  • Kink and alternative sexuality in a non-judgmental space

  • Intimacy challenges in long-term relationships

  • Sex after trauma, illness, or major life change

How we work.

Thoughtful, evidence-based support for sexual and intimacy concerns.

  • Somatic & Mindfulness Approaches

Working with the body's relationship to pleasure, sensation, and safety. Especially helpful for trauma, pain, arousal difficulties, and disconnection from physical experience, healing from the body up, not just the mind down.

  • CBT & Psychodynamic Approaches

Addressing the thoughts, beliefs, and early experiences that shape your relationship with sexuality, intimacy, and desire and understanding how history shows up in your body and relationships today.

  • Trauma-Informed Sex Therapy

For sexual trauma survivors, healing the connection between past experience and present intimacy, at a pace that feels genuinely safe and never pushed.

  • Couples Sex Therapy

For partners navigating mismatched desire, intimacy disconnection, or wanting to deepen their sexual relationship together, with a therapist who understands all relationship structures.

Sex therapy is more common than people realize.

It tends to be a good fit if any of these feel familiar, even if you've never said them out loud to anyone:

IS SEX THERAPY RIGHT FOR YOU?

You have questions about your sexuality you've never said out loud

Intimacy has become painful, difficult, or absent

You want to explore desire, orientation, or identity in a safe space

Sexual trauma is affecting your relationships or sense of self

You and your partner are disconnected around sex or intimacy

You're curious about kink or alternative sexuality and want support

Something shifted, after illness, a baby, a loss, and intimacy hasn't come back
